Mýtinka between nature, history and cycling routes

Mýtinka combines a wooded landscape by the water with traces of history and several opportunities to explore the surroundings on foot or by bicycle. The settlement lies north of the I/64 road. This creates a destination where nature, regional history and specific places to visit stand close together.

Landscape between the stream and the wooded hill

The Stodolský stream flows through Mýtinka. Along its course lies the local “Na Stodolském potoce” biocentre, which extends across the cadastral areas of Zelený Háj and Mýtinka u Poustky. It consists of a shallow, wooded valley with a strip of alders along the stream. Antonínova Výšina in the Mýtinka u Poustky area is also shaped by this landscape: The low hill lies above a shallow stream valley and forms a continuous wooded area by the stream. From there, it offers a view of the Cheb region.

A marked hiking route to SOOS

In the vicinity of Mýtinka, a 16-kilometre excursion from Františkovy Lázně to the SOOS National Nature Reserve leads via Antonínova Výšina. The route follows a green-marked hiking trail. The 16 kilometres give the outing a clear scope for planning a day trip. The trail connects the start in Františkovy Lázně with the route via Antonínova Výšina and the destination in the SOOS nature reserve. The sequence of spa town, wooded hill and nature reserve gives the excursion a clear thematic progression. This allows you to combine nature, landscape and the starting point in a single hike. The marked route provides orientation when planning a hike between the spa town, wooded hill and nature reserve. The excursion connects several different landscape and experience areas.

Cycling with regional history

National Cycle Route 23, the Krušné hory Magistrála, passes through Mýtinka (Rossenreuth) at kilometre 15 on the Cheb–Luby section. Immediately after crossing the busy Cheb–Aš road, the route passes the Mýtinka farmstead. Mýtinka was formerly a small settlement with six farmsteads. It was first mentioned in historical texts in 1395. A cycling tour therefore makes it possible to connect the present-day landscape with the documented history of the settlement, without Mýtinka appearing merely as a place to pass through.

Castles, festivals and events in the surrounding area

In the vicinity of Mýtinka, Seeberg Castle hosts a traditional historical fair, a wine festival, as well as various concerts and events for children and adults every year. The historical fair, wine festival, concerts and children's events each offer a different focus for an outing. This means that the possible programme extends beyond nature experiences. Families in particular can combine different ideas for a day out, choosing between a hike, a cycling tour and a cultural event in the surrounding area.

There is also a specific option to consider when choosing accommodation: Statek Mýtinka offers apartments with views. This option complements the landscape, cycling and cultural themes with concrete accommodation information for planning the rest of your stay.
