A Place with Mining Roots

Chodovská Huť was founded in 1687 as a settlement for the poorest miners from Tři Sekery. The village was formerly called “Dolní Šmelctál”. Chodovská Huť was also the southernmost of three settlements arranged from north to south: Tachovská, Plánská and Chodovoplánská, now Chodovská.

The local history also includes the former travelling school. It received its own building in 1884; the 1884 school building still stands in Chodovská Huť today. Here, the past is therefore present not only in a date but also in a preserved building in the village.
