Třebihošť and Zvičina: Mountain Views with History

The cadastral area of Třebihošť includes Zvičina, a 671-metre-high mountain that is one of the area’s popular tourist destinations. The view from its summit is particularly impressive: to the north, it extends across the eastern part of the Krkonoše Mountains, and to the south, across the Hořice and Jičín regions. Zvičina therefore provides a clear geographical landmark for anyone wishing to combine their stay with landscape experiences and regional history.

Winter Tradition and Raisova chata

Zvičina’s connection with winter sports dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when skiing developed in the area. The history of the local chalet is also closely connected with this environment: the chalet on Zvičina was renamed Raisova chata in 1927. Today, Raisova chata offers restaurant services for skiers and cross-country skiers. This mountain is therefore not only a viewpoint, but also a place where the winter use of the landscape can be experienced.

Trails Between Hořice and Zvičina

Those interested in the development of hiking in the region will find an early point of reference in 1920. At that time, the Klub českých turistů opened a hiking trail from Hořice to Zvičina. The so-called Imperial Road is also associated with the Perenská cesta. It was probably built during the Seven Years’ War with Prussia, between 1756 and 1763. Both references give the landscape historical depth: Zvičina is not only a mountain with a view, but is also connected with older trails and regional transport routes.

Churches and Chapels as Cultural Discoveries

Among the notable cultural monuments is the Zvičinský kostelík, an early Baroque church dating from 1706 and dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. Inside, it has a sandstone altar dating from around 1740. In Třebihošť itself, the Kaple Nanebevzetí Panny Marie dates from 1822. Another chapel in Třebihošť was extended in 1900 and 1901 with a nave and a vestibule. These different construction phases make the sites interesting for visitors who wish to include sacred architecture in their trip alongside nature and winter activities.

The Třebihošť area is connected to Dvůr Králové nad Labem by road II/300. The area is connected with Dvůr Králové nad Labem, Miletín and Horní Brusnice exclusively by bus.

Raisova chata currently does not offer accommodation. It is located on Zvičina and offers restaurant services for skiers and cross-country skiers.
