Traditions and Activities in the Village

The Maršovské posvícení traditionally takes place at the cultural centre on the third weekend of October. It includes good food, koláče, music and entertainment. In the forest at the upper end of Maršov u Úpice, a Czech lion with the years 1918 and 1928 carved into it is found on a slope of Velký kámen. The carving commemorates the sale of the Prorub forest district by Prince Schaumburg-Lippe, owner of the Náchod estate, to the town of Jaroměř.

Among the significant examples of vernacular architecture is the former farmstead, a rural farm complex built predominantly of wood in the 19th century. The preserved complex now consists of a granary, barns and an entrance gate. The former farmstead is listed in the state register of cultural monuments. Maršovka, Memorial Tree and Cycling Route

The Maršovka continues flowing towards Libňatov and on to Havlovice, where it flows into the Úpa. The Buk u Maršova beech is also one of the local landscape features: it stands in a field on the north-eastern edge of the village, is designated as a memorial tree and was first designated on 8 September 1983. A walk to this beech is recommended as a local excursion. Its location on the north-eastern edge of the village complements the stream with an independent landscape feature.

For cyclists, Cycling Route No. 4090 runs through Maršov u Úpice between Úpice and Křižanov. It is 33 km long and classified as moderately difficult. The 33 km distance sets a longer timeframe for day planning; the moderate difficulty rating adds a level of challenge to the route.
