Dolni Dvur – Winter Sports, Hiking Trails and Mountain Landscape

Dolní Dvůr lies in the valley of the Malé Labe and its tributaries and extends up to Liščí hora in the summit areas of the national park. This range of landscapes makes the town interesting for travel plans that combine winter sports, hiking, nature observation and small cultural discoveries. Winter Sports between Slopes and Cross-Country Ski Trails

The Luisino údolí ski area has two drag lifts with lengths of 500 and 300 metres, respectively. The ski slopes have an easy or moderate level of difficulty. Artificial snowmaking is used to ensure skiing conditions throughout the winter sports season. This gives you a clearly defined winter sports offering with different slope lengths and two documented levels of difficulty.

The Ski Family Dolní Dvůr ski area is primarily geared towards family-friendly leisure activities. There is also an equipment rental service there. For cross-country skiing, Dolní Dvůr has cross-country ski trails connected to the main cross-country ski trails of the Krkonoše Mountains. If you are looking for accommodation for the winter, you can therefore first decide whether you want to focus on downhill skiing, family-friendly leisure activities or extensive cross-country connections.

Summer Trails and Viewpoints

In summer, numerous hiking trails are available in Dolní Dvůr. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from the church in Dolní Dvůr past the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel. The route thus connects two specific landmarks and is one way to include the town and its sacred buildings in a hike.

Another special feature is Skřítkova hra. It leads to six viewpoints spread throughout the surrounding area. The viewpoints have information boards with questions about animals and plants of the Krkonoše Mountains. Those travelling with children or wanting to discover nature-related topics together will find here an opportunity to focus not only on the landscape but also on its animal and plant life. There is also climbing terrain in the former quarry of Dolní Dvůr.

Carillon at the Church of Saint Joseph

Culture can also be incorporated into your stay. The carillon at the Church of Saint Joseph plays four melodies that change depending on the season. At Christmas, Christmas carols are played. This seasonal change gives a visit to the church a special musical dimension without requiring you to plan a large collection of sights.

From Vrchlabí, the route leads along Road No. 14. In Lánov, the road to Dolní Dvůr branches off.
