Běleč Nad Orlicí – Nature, Cycling Routes and House Beer
Běleč Nad Orlicí is a destination for travellers who want to combine nature observation, cycling and regional specialities. Different experiences come together here: Bělečský písník is a protected natural area of particular importance, while two cycling routes offer different levels of challenge. This picture is complemented by Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků and its home-brewed beers.
Bělečský písník: a valuable natural area with clear access restrictions
Bělečský písník has been a natural monument since 1983. The wetter habitats in the area are home to the largest occurrence of round-leaved sundew in eastern Bohemia. This small plant is one of the characteristic features of the protected area and makes it clear that Písník is noteworthy not only for its landscape.
The access restriction is crucial for planning your trip: the Bělečský písník protected area is not open to the public. You should therefore not plan it as a freely accessible excursion destination, but understand it as a protected natural area with special ecological value. At the same time, Bělečský písník is already very popular because of its clear water. This contrast between high renown and the lack of public access is precisely part of its special character.
Two cycling routes with different profiles
Cyclists can explore Běleč nad Orlicí via various routes. The “Za Carem na kole” cycling route leads from Hradec Králové via Svinary to Běleč nad Orlicí. It is easy and suitable for road bikes and trekking bikes. It is therefore aimed at anyone looking for an uncomplicated route suitable for these types of bicycles.
The “Přírodním parkem Orlice” cycling route passes through Běleč nad Orlicí. It is easy to moderately difficult and suitable for mountain bikes and cross bikes. Compared with the easy “Za Carem na kole” route, it therefore offers a different tour profile.
The local character of the place is also evident in the cycling surroundings. Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků is located next to a heavily frequented cycling route. This makes it a prominent point of reference for local orientation, without implying any specific distance to other destinations.
Home-brewed beers at U Hušků
Construction of the microbrewery in the western part of Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků was completed in the summer of 1993. Three beers are offered there: Bělečský car is a home-brewed, unfiltered lager with 12°. Bělečská carevna is a home-brewed, unfiltered dark beer with 13°. Bělečská včelka is a home-brewed, unfiltered lager with 12° and a honey flavour. The selection combines two lagers with a dark beer; Bělečská včelka additionally has honey as a flavour note.
