Rudíkov – Church, Nature Park and Trails
Accommodation in Rudíkov
Rudíkov combines a prominent cultural monument with a landscape accessible via hiking trails, cycling routes and viewpoints. The landmark of the village is the church dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Together with Třebíčsko Nature Park, hilly terrain and coniferous forests, this creates a destination where cultural and natural experiences stand closely side by side.
Church and Protected Chapel
The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul has a remarkable historical background. Its consecration is considered one of the oldest church consecrations of its kind and may date back to the 11th or 12th century. From around 1801, the church was expanded and acquired its present Neoclassical appearance. Thus, a possibly medieval consecration history and a later clearly recognisable Neoclassical appearance come together in a single building.
Another cultural feature of Rudíkov is the Boží muka Chapel. It is a state-protected monument and was built in the French style after 1803. As a result, a visit to the village offers, in addition to the church, a second independent architectural monument with a different historical and artistic character.
Landscape of Třebíčsko Nature Park
Rudíkov is located in Třebíčsko Nature Park and is surrounded by hilly terrain and coniferous forests. Mushrooms and raspberries grow in these forests. The animal and plant life also includes specific features: the landscape around Rudíkov is home to large-flowered pasqueflower, two-house valerian and common spotted orchid. Rare animals include the black stork, smooth snake and grey partridge.
This combination of forest, terrain, plants and rare animals gives a stay a distinctly nature-oriented character, without limiting Rudíkov to a single experience. You can therefore discover the village with different focuses: through its cultural monuments, its landscape or the trails through the surrounding area.
Hiking, Cycling and Cross-Country Skiing
Rudíkov is connected to the surrounding villages by cycling and hiking trails. A 16 km route from Třebíč to the Rudíkov lookout tower passes through Ptáčov at 4.5 km, Kobylinec at 7.5 km and Nárameč at 11.3 km. The route thus identifies several clearly marked points on the way to the lookout tower. Cyclists may also be interested in Route No. 7, “Podhoráckem a přírodním parkem Třebíčsko”, which passes through Rudíkov.
The season also changes the possible focus: the terrain around Rudíkov allows cross-country skiing in winter. This information does not specify a particular snow level or fixed operating season; it merely identifies another activity associated with the village's landscape.
Lookout Tower and Local Connections
You can reach the viewing platform of the Rudíkov lookout tower via 45 steps. From there, you can enjoy a view of the Vysočina countryside in a south-easterly direction. The tower complements the trails and nature observation opportunities with a clearly defined viewpoint. As an additional local amenity, the FK Rudíkov sports complex has a fitness centre open to the public.
Rudíkov is connected to the surrounding villages by train and bus. For travel planning, the village can therefore be considered not only through individual sights but also through its connections to the neighbouring villages. If you would like to explore other places from the same selection, you can also find Krhov, Naloučany, Želetava, Náměšť Nad Oslavou, Radošov, Vícenice, Okarec and Kdousov.
