Předín combines village history, craft traditions and trails through the landscape of the Křižanovská vrchovina. Button making is particularly significant: its production in Předín was finally discontinued at the end of September 1991, but this local tradition remains vividly presented at the Malé Předínské Museum. Other attractions include historical traces at St. Wenceslas Church, a wayside shrine above the village and the Na Kobylí hlavu nature trail, which connects Předín with Markvartice.

Button Making at the Malé Předínské Museum

The button-making exhibition shows the wide variety of products made by this craft. On display are mother-of-pearl brooches, buckles, hairpins, ashtrays and necklaces, as well as boxes inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The collection thus not only brings a completed chapter of the village’s history to life, but also shows the different forms in which mother-of-pearl was processed. The exhibition therefore ranges from wearable jewellery to functional and decorative objects made of mother-of-pearl.

The Malé Předínské Museum is open during special events organised by the municipality. A visit can be arranged by telephone. The opening during special municipal events and the option to arrange a visit by telephone thus provide two specific ways to visit.

Church, Wayside Shrine and Historical Traces

The Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk now stands near St. Wenceslas Church. The work dates from the mid-18th century and adds a concrete example of Baroque art to the local history. The church patronage for the church in Předín is also mentioned as early as 1366. This year refers to the mention of the patronage and does not automatically indicate the construction date of the present-day church.

There is also a stone wayside shrine above Předín. It is a high-quality work of craftsmanship from the 17th century.

Nature Trail Through the Křižanovská vrchovina

For travel planning focused on the landscape and outdoor activity, the Na Kobylí hlavu nature trail offers a clearly defined connection between two places: it begins in Předín and ends in Markvartice. It passes through the Křižanovská vrchovina and over Kobylí hlava, the second-highest mountain in the Třebíčsko area. The Křižanovská vrchovina is the landscape region through which the trail runs, while Kobylí hlava, as the second-highest mountain in the Třebíčsko area, is a single point along the route. The trail complements the cultural sights with an experience of the landscape, with a clearly defined starting point in Předín and a destination in Markvartice.

Another distinctive feature is the Hory–Štůlně complex. It consists of mining pits in a forest in the cadastral area of Předín. These mining pits are traces of earlier extraction work. Anyone wishing to explore Předín’s cultural history and landscape together will find another distinct subject here alongside the museum, church and nature trail.
