Budíkov’s largest wooded areas lie in the northern and western parts of the municipality around Pusté Lhotsko. This clear landscape orientation makes the north and west of the municipality particularly interesting if you want to focus your stay on woodland and landscape areas. In the east, the Pstružný stream forms another distinctive line: the stream flows northwards along the eastern boundary of the municipality of Budíkov. The landscape of Budíkov therefore includes woodland in the north and west, paths, the Pstružný stream along the eastern boundary and its location in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

A marked trail and a cycle route

Along the northern edge of the Budíkov area runs the marked G. Mahler Trail from Řečice via Pusté Lhotsko towards Proseč. The precise route therefore also identifies several reference points for exploring the northern part of the municipality. Another connection is provided by Cycle Route 1214: it runs along Road III/34771 through Budíkov and Malý Budíkov. If, when planning your trip, you want to distinguish between a signposted route through the surrounding area and a designated cycle connection, these two routes offer different starting points without requiring you to view the village solely through individual sights.

Chapel, village life and a place for families

A prominent historic building in Budíkov is the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was built in 1863 in the Neo-Romanesque style. In 2002, it underwent extensive reconstruction. The two years therefore mark two different phases in its history: its construction in the 19th century and its later extensive renovation. Another link to the village’s history is the football club TJ ROVNOST-Budíkov, which was founded in 1963. In July, the sportspeople in Budíkov organise the pilgrimage tournament “Memoriál pana Žáčka, Haláka a Soukupa”.

In the centre of Budíkov there is a public green space with park landscaping. In addition, there is a recreational area with benches and a children’s corner.

Transport connections and choosing where to stay

Road III/34771 provides Budíkov with a transport connection to the town of Humpolec, approximately 5 km away. In addition, Road III/34772 and a network of paved local roads connect Budíkov with Čejov, Řečice and Dolní Město.
