Vyskytná combines a natural swimming area at the campsite with the Křemešník forests right next door and a remarkable history. Water, seasonal nature experiences, cycling and culture are all close at hand. When planning your trip, you can decide whether to focus on outdoor activities or the historic church.

Natural swimming area and Křemešník forests

Kemp Vyskytná is right next to a natural swimming area. It has a slab-buttress dam and a sandy access point to the water. Facilities include a slide for children and a diving board for adults. If the natural swimming area is important to your trip, check the facilities before you arrive.

The extensive Křemešník forests begin next to the campsite. Depending on the season, you can find mushrooms, raspberries and blueberries there, among other things. What you may find depends on the season, so do not assume these opportunities are the same year-round. The campsite and the adjacent forests bring together two different interests: a stay by the water and seasonal nature finds.

Cycling and navigation

The area around Kemp Vyskytná is suitable for cycling thanks to the light traffic. This is a separate attraction alongside the natural swimming area and the forest: a bike ride focuses on moving through the landscape, while the forests are especially notable for their seasonal finds. Road conditions can change, so check them before setting out. To orient yourself in Vyskytná, head towards Sázava and Křemešník.

Church and local history

The Church of the Name of the Virgin Mary is the oldest building in Vyskytná. Bishop Tobiáš of Bechyně founded it in 1290. The bell tower in Vyskytná contains a bell frame dating from the 17th century and two bells. The old bell tower is believed to date from the 15th century. These details refer to different historical points: the church’s founding, the tower’s estimated age and the later bell-frame structure. For a trip that includes local history as well as nature, the church offers a tangible historical landmark.

Summer tradition and trip planning

Every summer, around the turn of July and August, Vyskytná hosts the traditional Mramorový pohár competition. If you want to plan your trip around the event, check the dates in advance. The competition provides a specific date to plan around; mushrooms and berries, by contrast, depend on the season.

If you are looking for a hotel in Vyskytná, first decide whether your travel dates depend on the summer competition or whether nature and local history are your main interests.
