Rovečné is a destination for travelers who want to combine culture, walks through the countryside and seasonal swimming during their stay. The town brings together notable churches and monuments with Horní les, the highest point of the Svratecká hornatina, as well as a natural swimming pool on the northern edge of the town. This allows you to focus on different aspects without reducing the character of the town to a single attraction.

Culture and history in Rovečné

One important attraction is St Martin's Church. The single-nave Baroque building has a tower on the façade and was built in 1721. The church bell is considerably older: it dates from 1547. The complex also includes an ensemble consisting of the cemetery, cemetery wall and surrounding lime trees, which is protected as a cultural monument. The protection therefore applies not only to the church building, but to the entire described setting.

A second prominent stop in the town's history is the evangelical church. Construction began in 1897, and it was completed within 15 months. Its furnishings include an organ supplied by the Tuček company from Kutná Hora, which is still in use today. Another historical landmark is the monument to those who fell in the First World War. It was ceremonially unveiled on 28 October 1928. Together, these buildings and memorial sites give Rovečné a cultural profile that makes different eras visible.

Horní les: viewpoint and trails

For a transition from exploring the town to venturing into the countryside, the Rozhledna Horní les observation tower is an ideal destination in its own right. It is open to the public every year from 15 April to 15 October. Horní les itself is 774.3 m high and forms the highest point of the Svratecká hornatina. This combines a specific elevation with a clear geographical classification.

The hiking route “Z Rovečného na rozhlednu Horní les” begins in the square in Rovečné and follows a red-marked hiking trail along its entire length. A small car park is located opposite the health centre. From there, the route to Horní les is accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists.

Natural swimming pool and sports facilities

Rovečné's swimming pool is located in the upper part of the town, on its northern edge, and is used as a natural swimming pool in summer. It measures 30 × 25 metres and is up to 2 metres deep.

For another activity, Rovečné's multifunctional sports court is available by the school. It is currently used only for tennis and volleyball. Available times can be checked via the reservation function. The possible activities therefore differ considerably: seasonal swimming and sports on the one hand, and churches, monuments and trails through the surrounding countryside on the other.
