Hnačov – Water, Trails and Landscape
Accommodation in Hnacov
Hnačov brings together waterscapes, trails and regional characteristics in a manageable travel destination. The Hnačovský rybník is the focal point; around the village, exploration, activity and a historically themed event complement one another. Depending on whether you are planning a stay by the water, a short hike or a longer cycling tour, you will find different ways to shape your days. This allows the trip to combine observing the landscape, active routes and a distinctive local occasion.
The Hnačovský rybník
The Hnačovský rybník covers 68 hectares and was created in 1613. It is used for recreation. A short hiking route around the Hnačovský rybník crosses a footbridge over a small bay. Along the way, it offers views of the Bohemian Forest and the pond. In this way, the route combines a tangible landscape experience with a waterside trail. The footbridge and bay provide a clear midway point on the short circuit, while the views of the pond and Bohemian Forest present the surroundings from a shared trail perspective.
Landscape between Pond, Valley and Uplands
Zbudov is a landscape landmark of Hnačov and reaches 645 metres above sea level. Another defining feature is the Úslava Valley. It forms a landscape axis that separates two rolling uplands in the Hnačov area. As a result, the surroundings are characterized not only by the pond, but also by a prominent high point and the valley landscape.
Cycling, Walking and Water Sports
There are several documented route connections for active days. Cycle route No. 2082 runs through Hnačov on the connection between Měčín and Kolinec; on the documented connection from Měčín to Kolinec, it is 28 kilometres long. In addition, an approximately 1 km-long road connects Hnačov with a cottage area and continues as a connection to Plichtice. This road is designated as cycle route No. 2082 and as a route for pedestrians. The different lengths help distinguish between a limited circuit and a more extended route without equating the two. At Wake Park Hnačov, wakeboards, wakeskates, water skis and wetsuits are available for hire. This adds a specific water-sports option to the trails by the pond and the exploration of the landscape.
Historic Vehicles in Hnačov
A distinctive local tradition is the meeting of socialist-era vehicles, traditionally held at Autocamp Hnačov. The meeting is presented as an exhibition of historic machines. This event theme complements the landscape and activity options with an insight into the area's technical and event culture. Thus, alongside water, trails and landscape, the local offering also includes a clearly defined historical theme.
