Bohdíkov combines protected nature, distinctive architectural history and an unusual underground site. Between the Na Hadci protected area, the Baroque church “Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla”, the Tvrz – dům č.p. 55 and Štola Mařka, you will find very different points of interest for planning your trip. Landscape formations, historic architecture and an important bat roost give the village a multifaceted character.

Serpentine Rocks and Forests at Na Hadci

The Na Hadci protected area covers 56 hectares and lies above Raškov. It protects communities on serpentine rocks, remnants of pine and beech forests, and characteristic weathering formations. Its distinctive landscape includes relict pine stands on serpentine rock outcrops. These are surrounded by fir-beech forests and maple-beech forests.

Na Hadci therefore offers a specific natural and landscape focus for anyone interested not only in forests, but also in the geological substratum and unusual forms of weathering. The combination of rare relict pine stands, serpentine rocks and different forest communities makes the area an experience in its own right alongside Bohdíkov’s historic sights.

Baroque Church and Renaissance Core

The church “Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla” is a Baroque church built in 1725 and is registered as an immovable cultural monument. It is visible from a distance and has a semicircular termination and a square tower. These clearly recognizable features make it a distinctive landmark and give the village a historic character.

Another chapter in the village’s history is represented by the Tvrz – dům č.p. 55. It was declared a national cultural monument in 2000, is Bohdíkov’s oldest building and preserves a Renaissance core dating from the second half of the 16th century. Anyone interested in the development of rural settlements and historic buildings will encounter two different periods here: the Renaissance in the oldest building and the Baroque in the church.

Štola Mařka in the Exler Quarry

Štola Mařka is located on the grounds of the abandoned Exler Quarry in Bohdíkov. From the entrance, it is accessible for a length of 320 m. In the Šumperk District, it is the largest wintering site for rare bat species. Bohdíkov therefore also includes a destination where mining history and nature conservation are directly connected.

Štola Mařka is particularly appealing to visitors who want to discover a less conventional side of the region in addition to churches and historic buildings. The site combines the specific setting of an abandoned quarry with its importance as a habitat for rare bat species. The accessible length of 320 m describes the section that can be reached from the entrance.
