Between the Ondřejník Ridge and Lhotka

Lhotka combines a clear connection to the mountains with trails, cultural sites, and sports facilities in the village. The highest and southernmost point of Lhotka’s cadastral area lies at an elevation of 900 m and can be reached directly from Ondřejnické sedlo.

Ondřejnické sedlo itself is a 757 m-high mountain saddle. At 757 m, the saddle is lower than the elevation points at 864, 890, and 900 m. The cadastral areas of Lhotka, Metylovice, and Pstruží meet there. On the Ondřejník Ridge, the municipality of Lhotka extends to the summit of Suché úbočí at an elevation of 864 m. Another distinctive point is the 890 m-high summit of Ondřejník: because it is almost entirely free of trees, it offers expansive views. If, when choosing accommodation, you value a landscape with clearly distinguishable elevation points, Lhotka therefore offers specific destinations for planning your own excursions.

Trails with fixed landmarks

A special connection between the mountain and the village begins at Antoníček. On the way from Ondřejník to Lhotka, a trail marked by a signposted cross branches off there toward the village. Two benches invite you to rest at Antoníček. From the same place, the “Pramen Olešné” spring can also be reached via the green-marked trail toward Lhotka.

The stream that rises there flows through the eastern part of Lhotka as well as through Metylovice and Palkovice, and then feeds a reservoir of the same name used for recreation. For cyclists, the 21 km-long cycling excursion “Okruh kolem Ondřejníku” follows a green-marked section to Lhotka.

Culture and activities in the village

The local cultural sites include the chapel “Kaple Navštívení Panny Marie”. It was built in 1844 from donations. With the archbishop’s permission, monthly services began to be held in the chapel whenever possible in 1925. Its history complements the natural experiences with a specific insight into Lhotka’s religious tradition.

The “Amfiteátr U školy” amphitheater is available for events. It is used to host cultural events, particularly the “Sochovy národopisné slavnosti”.

The “Sportoviště Kuřín” sports center has a multi-purpose field with artificial turf and a reconstructed grass football pitch. In 2020, a workout area, several outdoor training machines, an obstacle course, spring riders, and a sandbox were also added there. When looking for accommodation, you can therefore assess Lhotka based on whether you would like to consider mountain trails, village culture, and these existing sports facilities within the same choice of destination.
