Tepere – Cycling, Mountains and Local Experiences

Tepere combines a strong cycling tradition with varied landscapes and local events. Cycling route 4247, known as “Hřebenovka”, runs from Železný Brod via Těpeře and Pěnčín to Dolní Černá Studnice. This creates a direct connection through several villages, while competitions, hiking marches and seasonal events provide further opportunities for discovery.

Cycling on the Hřebenovka and in the Těpeřský race

For cyclists, route 4247 is an important point of reference. It is known as “Hřebenovka” and runs through Těpeře. In addition, T. J. Sokol Těpeře organises the “Těpeřský maratón a půlmaratón” mountain bike competition. In the 2025 edition, routes of 42 km and 21 km were available. The course alternated between asphalt, grass, gravel, macadam and coniferous forest floor covered with roots.

The “Těpeřský Puchýř” hiking march also offers several route lengths: 5, 13, 20, 30 and 45 km. The range extends from 5 to 45 km, allowing a clear distinction between shorter and longer day plans. Those who include the march as part of an active day can combine their preferred route length with time spent at the accompanying programme. During the day, the “Těpeřský Puchýř” featured an accompanying programme at the sports field by the Sokolovna, as well as refreshments. The sports field by the Sokolovna provides a specific meeting point, while the refreshments add a food option to the day’s plans.

Mountains and cultural destinations in the surrounding area

The landscape around Těpeře is shaped by several mountains. Maršovicky vrch is located near Těpeře. Černá Studnice, Pustina and Mariánská hora are also in the surrounding area. Valdštejn Church is likewise located near Těpeře, adding a cultural destination to the area’s natural attractions. The destinations therefore place the focus not only on sporting activities: alongside the mountains, Valdštejn Church offers a cultural site in the surrounding area. On 28 October 2023, following the success of the previous year, creative workshops for carving Halloween pumpkins were held again in Těpeře. Pumpkin soup was prepared from the surplus pumpkin flesh. The event combines a hands-on activity with a culinary tradition and shows another seasonal side of the village.

Sporting events are also part of the local history. On 11 November 2023, Těpeře hosted a traditional autumn amateur table tennis tournament for the second time. For a quieter discovery, the Estrella shop offers loose bead-making materials and finished costume jewellery. The range in Tepere therefore extends from cycling and mountain biking trails to marches and tournaments, as well as crafts, regional events and excursion destinations in the surrounding area.
