Foothill landscapes and trails for hikes of various lengths

Rudník combines a well-preserved foothill landscape with meadows, forests and small streams. Panoramic views open up from many places, particularly of Černá hora, Liščí hora and Světlá hora. Open landscapes, wooded sections and distinctive mountain views thus come together in a manageable area. Those who want to experience the surroundings while on the move can choose between shorter and longer routes. The combination of meadows, forest and streams changes the character of the individual sections, while the distinctive mountains remain part of the landscape.

Rudník is connected to the marked hiking trail network of the Club of Czech Tourists. For a short outing, the 3 km route from Rudník to Lázně Fořt is a good choice. It is an easy walk and suitable for families with children. The 8 km route from Rudník via Javorník to Hertvíkovice passes through a foothill landscape with views of the Krkonoše Mountains. This provides a considerably longer route with mountain views. The 10 km route from Rudník to Janské Lázně allows onward travel by cable car to Černá hora. The different lengths make it easier to choose a suitable outing according to the desired walking distance and destination. The short route offers a shorter distance, while the two longer connections allow more time for the landscape and distant views.

Church, brewery and historic traces

The Church of St. Wenceslas in Rudník is protected as a cultural monument. It was originally Gothic and was rebuilt by Carlo Valmadim between 1598 and 1602. Tombstones from the 16th century have been preserved along the outer enclosing wall. The church thus combines its historic architectural form with visible traces of the locality's older history. For a tour of the village, the building and preserved details from different periods are therefore key points of interest. The tombstones make the outer enclosing wall another visible part of the church complex.

A former Renaissance château in Rudník was extensively converted into a brewery at the beginning of the 19th century. Renaissance vaults have been preserved in the former brewery. Renaissance sgraffiti are visible beneath the peeling facade plaster. The former use and the preserved architectural elements can be appreciated as a connected historic stop.

Until 1922, Lázně Fořt was a spa with a healing mineral spring. Rudník is also home to Silbersteinů Château, a château built in the Pseudo-Gothic style and known as “little Hluboká.” The château can be viewed from the outside while passing by. Together with the church and the former brewery, this site broadens the view of different chapters in the region's history.

Pump track for different riding levels

A pump track has been in operation next to the tennis courts in Rudník since June 28, 2019. It is suitable for practicing balance, bicycle control and riding technique for beginners as well as experienced riders. The facility complements the hiking trails with an active cycling option and thus caters to different riding levels. Those who want to switch between a stroll, a longer route and cycling training will find various forms of exercise in Rudník.
