Discover Lískovice
Accommodation in Lískovice
Lískovice combines an illustrative local history with a remarkable natural area and several documented cycling routes. This creates a destination where cultural discoveries, observing the landscape and active excursions can be given different emphasis.
Church and Historical Traces
A defining building is the Church of Saint Nicholas. It stands on a hill on the northern edge of Lískovice and is located in the middle of the cemetery. The church is a rectangular, single-nave building with a rectangular presbytery and a square vestibule on the western side. This makes the church a concrete starting point for getting to know the history of the village not only through dates, but also through the form of a preserved building.
The older history also includes the Lískovice castle site near House No. 50. It consists of an oval hill with a partially preserved ditch. The Lískovice fortress is mentioned in the years 1357, 1499 and 1551; in the second half of the 16th century, it had already been abandoned. Those interested in historical traces in the landscape will therefore find not only a single building here, but also evidence of an abandoned fortification.
Another historical connection leads to Tereziny Dary, which was founded in 1777. Together with the church, the castle site and the surviving references to the fortress, this creates a multifaceted picture of the region’s past.
Temník Pond and Birdlife
Temník Pond near Lískovice covers 13.77 ha and is considered one of the most valuable bird localities in this region. Its shore vegetation is also precisely described: it consists of 65% cattails, 25% reeds and 10% low littoral vegetation. This distribution shows that the pond is viewed not only as a body of water, but as a structured habitat.
The reed beds of Temník Pond were home to a breeding colony averaging around 10 pairs of grey herons. Up to 3 pairs of western marsh harriers and 8 pairs of black-necked grebes also bred there. The approximate and limiting figures remain important: they describe documented populations without promising continuous observation or current availability.
Cycling Routes through the Surrounding Area
There are also concrete points of interest for a cycling trip. A cycling tour through the Chlum Hills runs via Dobrá Voda u Hořic and Lískovice to Loučná Hora. Cycling Route No. 4287 connects Lískovice, Šaplava and Loučná Hora. In addition, the 7-km-long Cycling Route No. 4143 runs between Milovice and Domoslavice. These different routes can be understood as independent suggestions for planning your excursions, without interpreting their distances or travel times beyond the documented information.
