Neveklov offers several very different ways to explore history and culture: a probably medieval church, a Baroque chapel, Jewish heritage sites, exhibitions and an audio guide. In addition, there is the renowned Greenways Praha–Vídeň cycling route. If you are looking for a place with cultural discoveries and a clear connection to cycling for your trip, you will find various starting points here for your planning.

Church, Chapel and Historical Details

St. Havel's Church in Neveklov probably already existed in the 13th century. Its masonry is probably largely Gothic. Architectural elements from the 13th and 14th centuries have been incorporated into the church's surrounding wall. It is precisely this combination of an early date, preserved masonry and individual architectural elements that makes the church grounds a place where several historical layers can be read.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is a small Baroque building dating from 1700 that opens onto four arcades. Alongside the probably medieval St. Havel's Church, the four arcades add a Baroque accent to the townscape and expand the tour with a second architectural style.

Jewish Heritage in the Townscape

Approximately 160 gravestones have been preserved in Neveklov's Jewish cemetery. The cemetery is locked; a key can be borrowed at the town office's cashier's desk. This information is particularly important for your visit because access is not simply open and the option of borrowing a key should be incorporated into your planning.

Neveklov's synagogue is an unadorned building on the south side of Táborská Street, east of the square. Its location on the south side of Táborská Street, east of the square, makes it easier for you to deliberately seek out the synagogue while touring Neveklov.

Smartguide, Exhibitions and Cycling

Neveklov can be explored with the Smartguide audio guide. For several years, the information centre has housed an exhibition featuring works by the local painter and graphic artist Miroslav Mašek. Additional exhibitions are also held there throughout the year. This allows you to combine your tour of the town with a self-guided audio exploration and a visit to the information centre.

For active days, Neveklov is located on the renowned Greenways Praha–Vídeň cycling route. The route is a reason in its own right to include the town in a cycling trip. Those arriving by bicycle can plan the historical sites and exhibitions as a cultural complement to a stage along this connection. The chateau park in the Tloskov district is also freely accessible. Depending on whether you focus on historical buildings, exhibitions, cycling or a stay surrounded by nature, this gives your trip planning and choice of suitable accommodation different possible emphases.
