Mrzky can be explored through three clearly distinct themes: local history and remembrance, the Středočeská Fruit Trail, and dog sports at the Paví Dvůr training hall. Alongside the historic sites, there is a walking route and a reservation-based local activity. For trip planning, it helps to distinguish between village history, outdoor activity, and dog training.

Village History with Tangible Traces

The 1899 chapel was built in 1899 with contributions from local residents. Its year of construction and community funding give this small building a clear place in the village’s history.

Another link to the history of the village is the memorial to the citizens of Mrzky who fell in the First World War. It was built in 1919 at the expense of local residents and the municipality. The memorial bears the names of 20 fallen residents; the house numbers of their homes are also recorded. In this way, it connects the remembrance of individual people with specific links to the village.

A two-storey timber-framed granary from Mrzky is dated to 1791. Its relocation to a museum in Přerov was planned. As a granary, this historic building has a distinctly different function from the chapel and the memorial.

Walking and Fruit-Growing Traditions

A published walking route starts in the village square in Mrzky and follows the Středočeská Fruit Trail and cycle route 8210 towards Limuzy. The starting point and named routes provide clear directions for the trip. Check the current signage and trail surface before setting out.

There are ten rest stops on the Středočeská Fruit Trail, with maps and information about local fruit-growing traditions. The stops combine wayfinding along the route with insights into fruit growing. As their facilities may change, check locally what is currently available.

During the completed project period from 2011 to 2013, the route also included interactive panels that allowed visitors to test their knowledge. If you are planning to visit these panels, check locally whether they are available.

A green-marked walking trail passes through the local area; check the trail markers locally. The Hradešínka stream also flows into the larger Bušinec stream in the village.

Dog Sports at the Training Hall

The Paví Dvůr training hall in Mrzky offers 390 m² of indoor space for dog training. Activities welcomed there include agility, dog dancing, obedience training, obedience, and Hoopers. Participation is by reservation; check booking and availability before your trip.

The offering is suited to travelers who want to make dog sports a specific part of their plans. The several disciplines listed make Paví Dvůr a different focus from the walking route or the village’s historical sites. What matters is whether one of the listed sports suits your plans and a reservation is available.
