Cycling with different route characteristics
Cycling route 1/A is an approximately 16 km loop that passes through Čeřenice. It runs from Čeřenice via Bělokozly back to Sázava. From Poříčko, the cycling route climbs steeply to Čeřenice. This makes the section from Poříčko to Čeřenice clearly different from the rest of the route. The hiking trail to Český Šternberk is marked blue and leads via Bělokozly and Čeřenice. The two routes differ in their mode of travel, marking and direction: the cycling route leads back to Sázava, while the hiking trail leads to Český Šternberk.
Hiking trails, Bílý kámen and Český Šternberk
Along the way, the trail reaches Bílý kámen. This is a hill and a disused limestone quarry. On this section, Bílý kámen combines a marked route with a clearly recognizable landform and the former use of limestone. Thus, this landscape feature complements the connection between Bělokozly, Čeřenice and Český Šternberk with a specific site that has a history of its own.
Stone monument, chapel and local traditions
The cultural attractions include Kámen sv. Prokopa, a stone monument on the route from Čeřenice towards Křešický potok. Local tradition associates the stone with a cross that Saint Procopius is said to have left with his thumb. Scratching marks are also attributed to Satan in this tradition.
There is also a column chapel with a bell function on the village green in Čeřenice. In Sázava–Čeřenice stands Pomník u Čeřenic, a memorial first documented in writing in 1937. Studánka Habrovka is also located in Sázava–Čeřenice. From the village green in Čeřenice, it can be reached via an approximately 200-metre-long, unmarked asphalt lane. The local selection therefore includes, alongside the trails, smaller attractions from religious tradition, memorial culture and the local landscape.
Further sites along the trail and stream
In Čeřenice, Čertův kámen lies on the bank of Křešický potok in a deeply cut valley. A regularly renewed wooden sign with tourist marking identifies the stone. On the way from Čeřenice to Český Šternberk, there is also a similar stone on the left bank of Křešický potok, opposite a wooden footbridge in the Kolotoče area.
