Discover Nová Cerekev

A different architectural period is represented by the present-day Church of Saint Thomas Becket. It was built in the Baroque style between 1750 and 1760. On the square in front of the church, characteristic stone pillar wayside shrines from the 17th century adorn the public space. In the northern part of the square, opposite House No. 43, there is a simple octagonal stone fountain. It forms a distinctive design feature of the municipality. The houses on the northern side of Rubešova Street also deserve attention: they have largely been preserved in their original form and, together with the synagogue, form a distinctive urban ensemble.
