Oudoleň lies in a long valley along the Oudoleňský potok stream, which is also known as the Oudoleňka. The village brings together several distinct attractions: a chapel commemorating those who died in the First World War, the Hraběnčin křížek, a fruit tree avenue along a restored path, and the Mlýn Oudoleň family mill. Traces of local history

The chapel in Oudoleň was built in 1926 in memory of the soldiers who fell in the First World War from 1914 to 1918, and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Its tower contains a bronze bell. Oudoleň is also mentioned in old documents in connection with a branch of the Liběcká trail.

Another historical landmark is Hraběnčin křížek. It is already marked on a map of the Polná estate from 1780, on the road from Oudoleň to Jitkov. The municipality restored it in 2019; a seating area and an information board were also installed there. The seating area and information board add an opportunity to linger and provide additional orientation. The path to Hraběnčin křížek is used, or intended to be used, as a destination for walks.

A fruit tree avenue with specific dimensions

The Oudoleňská ovocná alej ke křížku runs along a 500-metre-long restored path. Forty apple trees, 30 pear trees, 30 cherry trees and 20 plum trees were planted there. In the 2019 Avenue of the Year competition, it was chosen as the winner for the Vysočina Region. The avenue provides a habitat for animals and a source of food for bees.

Mill, flour and living craftsmanship

Mlýn Oudoleň produces and sells rye, wheat and spelt flour. At the same time, the small family mill invites visitors to come to the mill in person and see it. At the Kryštofek family mill, rye flour is milled on original machines built during the Second World War. In this way, a regional food product is connected with the history of milling technology.

Events and orientation

Oudoleň traditionally hosts a carnival procession and a Christmas market. In addition to permanent historical traces and landscape features, these two recurring events are also part of the local tradition.

Road III class 3509 runs through Oudoleň. Bus connections operate from Oudoleň to Havlíčkův Brod, Přibyslav and Chotěboř. Oudoleň is a member of the Společenství obcí Podoubraví association of municipalities; for the association's area, the regional portal lists numerous marked cycling and hiking trails.
