Štědronín-Plazy: Angel Camp and the Sedláček Trail
Accommodation in Štědronín-Plazy
Štědronín-Plazy can be explored through specific activities rather than a single type of holiday: an annual fishing camp on the shore of the Orlík Reservoir, the Sedláček Trail and the Štědronín recreation centre each offer a different focus.
Angel Camp on the Orlík Reservoir
The regional association responsible for the fishing camp “Tábor s vodníkem” holds it annually on the shore of the Orlík Reservoir at the Počta – Štědronín recreation centre. The 2025 programme included a communal campfire with sausage roasting and night fishing; according to the weekly schedule, night fishing took place every other day. Team competitions covered a range of fishing topics, including fish identification and fishing techniques. The week’s programme is shaped by both communal camp life and practical fishing topics. The specific activities and their schedule refer to the 2025 edition. If you would like to plan your trip around the annual camp, check the dates and programme for the relevant edition.
Hiking and cycling on different routes
The Sedláček Trail runs along the Otava from Písek to Zvíkov and is 25 kilometres long. The stated walking time for a one-way hike on the trail is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Its section through Štědronín leads to the road bridge over the Otava. The trail was laid out between 1924 and 1928; it was named after August Sedláček, a professor, historian and keen hiker.
A different, modified 35-kilometre route should be distinguished from the trail: since 2006, it has been renovated as cycle route No. 1225 for shared use by pedestrians and cyclists, and runs through Štědronín. This gives you two differently described options for finding your way: the 25-kilometre trail has a stated walking time, while the modified route is designated as a shared cycle route. When planning a trip, it helps to keep the route and its length in mind rather than treating the two descriptions as equivalent.
Recreation centre and accommodation options
The Štědronín recreation centre is located on the shore of the Orlík Reservoir. The operator lists an outdoor pool, a sauna, an infrared sauna and a whirlpool bath. In addition, there is the Rozsutec cottage with eight beds, three apartments with three, four and four beds, and one apartment with seven beds. Tent and caravan pitches are also available.
