Renaissance Fortress and Sacred Details

Nemile takes you to historic rooms, sacred details and trails by the water. This allows the place to be explored in different ways: through cultural history in the fortress and chapel, or while cycling or walking along the Nemilka Reservoir.

Nemile Fortress preserves original Renaissance stucco work, a black and a white kitchen, a knights’ hall and stuccoed gentlemen’s rooms. The kitchens, the knights’ hall and the stuccoed gentlemen’s rooms each represent different focal points within the preserved interiors.

The listed so-called chapel room of Nemile Fortress (ÄŤ. Ăşskp: 103511) features decorative stucco bands, bead ornaments, applied angel and lion-head motifs, and rosettes. The design combines linear bands and bead ornaments with applied angel and lion-head motifs as well as rosettes. This draws attention to various decorative levels, from the stucco bands to the individual motifs. The chapel room complements the other preserved interiors of the fortress with a richly detailed sacred space.

Kryštof Hubryk of Belnsdorf, later Huberck, probably had the Renaissance fortress in Nemile, later the Filipov district, built in the second decade of the 17th century. The building history connects Nemile and Filipov with a builder from Belnsdorf.

Chapel and Cultural Events

May devotions are held in May at the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Nemile. Those planning their trip in spring can therefore take into account a recurring religious event in addition to the fortress. Construction of the chapel began in 1887.

The restored eastern half of Nemile Fortress can be visited by prior telephone appointment and as part of regular cultural events. For your visit, the preferred type of cultural event is therefore decisive: you can arrange a telephone appointment or look for a suitable cultural event.

Cycling Tours by the Nemilka Reservoir

Nemile is also connected to a specific route for cyclists. On the cycling tour from Zábřeh via Nemile and Nad Přehradou, the Nemilka Reservoir near Nemile is one of the sights along the route.

A trail from Březná Nature Park runs along the Nemilka Reservoir to Nemile. The Nemilka Reservoir therefore lies directly along this trail; on the cycling tour from Zábřeh via Nemile and Nad Přehradou, it is one of the sights along the route near Nemile. Two different routes are available for planning your day: the cycling tour connects Zábřeh, Nemile and Nad Přehradou, while the trail from the nature park follows the reservoir to Nemile.

If you are looking for accommodation in Nemile, you can first decide on the focus of your trip. The fortress with its chapel room and the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary combine historic rooms with sacred themes; the cycling tour via Zábřeh and Nad Přehradou and the trail from the nature park lead to the Nemilka Reservoir and Nemile. This allows you to base your search for accommodation on cultural visits or days by the water.
