Miletín combines an educational walk with insights into theater history, monastic tradition, and its own past. Those traveling with children can discover experiences that are just as entertaining as they are informative, while culture enthusiasts can explore several distinct topics.

Educational Trail with Views of Podzvičinsko

The Naučná stezka K. J. Erbena is designed as an entertaining and educational trail for adults and children. It has nine checkpoints. The nine checkpoints give the walk a clear sequence of stations. This means the trail can be planned as a shared experience not only because of its views but also because of its various stopping points. The Naučná stezka K. J. Erbena offers beautiful views of Podzvičinsko. Miletínské lázně are one of the stops along the trail. When hiking on the Naučná stezka K. J. Erbena, tourists and other visitors to Miletín also visit the Church of the Annunciation of the Lord. Free tours of this church can be arranged by prior agreement.

Theater as History to Discover

The Muzeum českého amatérského divadla displays a collection of painted stage curtains. You can step onto the stage there and try out the basic technical equipment of a theater. The visit combines viewing and hands-on exploration: the painted curtains provide a visual introduction, while the stage and technology make the world of theater immediately tangible, and its historical development puts the individual impressions into context. At the same time, the museum documents the development of Czech amateur theater: from the fundamental sources of folk theater and the National Revival, through the heyday of amateur theater around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, to amateur theater today. This makes it possible not only to observe a cultural topic but also to explore it in practice.

Monastery Remains and Symbolic City History

The Klášterní sklepení is the only surviving remnant of a ruined fortress and an abandoned monastery of the Teutonic Order. It comprises two halls carved into the rock, separated from each other by stone Gothic portals. There are also masonry, vaulted stairways and a narrow corridor leading toward a well. Epopej Miletína offers another way to explore the past: the artistic interpretation of the first written mention of Miletín represents four symbolic milestones in the history of Miletín. The 5.5-meter-high bronze sculpture stands in Na Parkáni Park.

Tower, Pilgrimage, and Local Specialty

The Miletínská věž was originally the eastern main gate of a monastery and was raised to three stories in 1586. It is not accessible to the public. Only on event days, such as during a fair or pilgrimage, does it form part of a tour of all the city's sights. Miletínské modlitbičky are also part of the local history. Karel Erben resumed their production after restitution in 1991, following the original recipe, and continues it to this day. A regional specialty thus complements Miletín's historical and cultural impressions.
