Chrást nad Sázavou offers several clearly distinguishable options for a stay: architectural history, cycling, water sports and other destinations in the surrounding region. The sights range from St. Catherine’s Church to a granite pylon above the railway line; they also include a cycle route, a shared cycle and footpath, and a weir navigable for water sports.

Cycling and Water Sports

Cycle route 19D Posázavská runs through Chrást nad Sázavou along a section from Na Průhonu towards Krhanice. A second, clearly measured option is the Chrást–Týnec cycle path: along its entire length, it is designated for shared use by pedestrians and cyclists and is 1,010 metres long. This provides two cycling options described in different ways for orientation, without needing to conflate their lengths.

Water sports are possible at the Podělusy–Chrást weir. The weir is navigable for water sports, with a boat passage on the right and a fish ladder on the left. For planning your day, cycling and water activities can therefore be considered as separate focuses.

Church and Memorial Site

St. Catherine’s Church in Chrást nad Sázavou was originally a Gothic church from the first half of the 14th century. It was rebuilt in 1888–1889; during this work, the nave was raised and a tower was constructed. The building history therefore combines a medieval origin with a clearly documented alteration in the 19th century.

The memorial to the victims of the First World War stands on a hill above the Čerčany–Praha-Braník railway line. It was created on the initiative of the legionnaire Antonín Štěpán and the local unit of the Czechoslovak Socialist Party. The memorial is designed as a granite pylon bearing the inscription „To those who fell and died 1914–1918“. For a stay focused on cultural history, this site thus provides both a specific location and a comprehensible history of its creation.

Railway Halt and Local History

The Chrást nad Sázavou railway halt is located between Týnec nad Sázavou and Jílové u Prahy stations. For the historical classification of the locality, it is also recorded that a scheduled train stopped there for the first time on 1 July 1930. Thus, in addition to excursion and cultural topics, the development of the railway location and its position between two stations are also relevant for orientation.
